The Annual Kansas Silent Film Festival will once again commence next month, February 26 & 27, 2010.
As always, this is a FREE event to anyone who wishes to attend! This fantastic festival will once again be hosted at the Washburn University in the White Concert Hall, as has been done since the festival's inception. YAAYYYYY, Washburn!
Our Special Guest this year will be Melissa Talmadge Cox, the grand-daughter of Buster Keaton & Natalie Talmadge and the grand-niece of Norma and Constance Talmadge! We will show Keaton's Our Hospitality on Friday night and Smilin' Through with Norma Talmadge and Harrison Ford on Saturday afternoon. Melissa Cox will help introduce these films and she will also be our guest speaker for the Cinema-Dinner on Saturday evening around 5:00pm at the Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center, directly across the street from White Concert Hall, on the campus.
If you wish to be present for the Cinema Dinner, please make your reservations as early as possible, because there IS a charge of $25 per person non-refundable for the dinner. While reservations are not required, they are preferable, as seating is limited.
Our Saturday feature presentation will be The Yankee Clipper (1927), starring William Boyd.
If anyone has further questions, or would like to read more information about the festival and its location, or to see our wonderful schedule lineup that we have slated for this year, please check out our website at http://www.kssilentfilmfest.org/.
You may also e-mail our festival's coordinator, Bill Shaffer at bshaffer2@cox.net or contact me via e-mail at larrys66diner@gmail.com.
I hope to see you present at the 14th Annual Kansas Silent Film Festival! |
